The University of Winnipeg is an urban campus in Manitoba’s largest city. UWinnipeg is a welcoming, student-focused institution noted for academic excellence, Indigenous scholarship, small class sizes, campus diversity, and a commitment to sustainability which includes the title of serving the most sustainable campus meals in North America. UWinnipeg offers career-oriented education anchored in strong academic practices. UWinnipeg has embraced the sharing of knowledge and understanding about Indigenous peoples’ culture by introducing the Indigenous Course Requirement (ICR) for all students.

UWinnipeg offers undergraduate students a well-rounded academic experience that gives them a distinct competitive advantage thanks to the tremendous opportunities to engage in research and scholarship alongside internationally renowned faculty in a vast array of topics and across disciplines. Undergraduate students benefit from high-quality training and expanding opportunities for engagement in innovative research.

UWinnipeg distinguishes itself as a research innovator through many of its growing number of graduate programs, such as its Master in Management with specialization in Technology, Innovation and Operations; its Master of Arts in Criminal Justice; and the newly added Master of Environmental and Social Change (MESC). MESC students choose a degree path for their specialization and participate in training activities that bridge social and natural science with humanities research that includes human geography, natural sciences, and environmental studies. UWinnipeg is focused on providing a wide variety of work-integrated-learning opportunities for students; nearly 56 percent of students participate in them before they graduate.
