The University of King’s College, Canada’s oldest chartered university, is a tight-knit and lively academic community in coastal Halifax, N.S. It offers degrees in arts, science, music and journalism, and is renowned for its humanities and journalism offerings.

Most King’s students begin in the Foundation Year Program (FYP), an intensive, interdisciplinary program that immerses students in the humanities. Students read and discuss fundamental works in philosophy, history, literature, drama and science from ancient to contemporary periods. Lectures, tutorials and bi-weekly essay assignments enhance students’ abilities in analysis, argumentation and expression.
