Students at NSCAD University (the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design) have been shaping art, design and craft in Canada since 1887. Located in historic downtown Halifax, NSCAD offers students exceptional access to equipment and facilities, and boasts a global reputation for excellence in preparing students for a future in the creative industries. NSCAD’s faculty and alumni represent some of Canada’s most highly regarded curators, designers, craftspeople, filmmakers, artists, educators, and entrepreneurs. Close connections between students, faculty and alumni encourage vital and innovative dialogue and collaboration.

NSCAD’s three undergraduate programs, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fine Arts, include a host of majors and minors, including animation, media arts, ceramics, painting, printmaking, jewelry design and metalsmithing, Indigenous studies, textiles and fashion. The Master of Fine Art, Master of Design and Master of Arts in Art Education are highly competitive graduate programs. In addition, NSCAD offers three post-baccalaureate programs in visual art and design and new Certificate Programs in Gallery and Studio Management and Creativity, Innovation and the Entrepreneurial Mindset.
