La description ci-dessous est donnée par l'établissement dans la langue de travail de celui-ci.

The University of King’s College, Canada’s oldest chartered university, is a tight-knit and lively academic community in coastal Halifax, N.S. It offers degrees in arts, science, music, journalism, writing and publishing, and is renowned for its humanities, journalism and graduate writing offerings.

Most King’s undergraduate students begin in the Foundation Year Program (FYP), an intense and immersive humanities program that makes up the majority of a student’s first year. Students read and discuss fundamental works in philosophy, history, literature, drama and science from ancient to contemporary periods. Lectures, tutorials and bi-weekly essay assignments enhance students’ abilities in analysis, argumentation and expression.

King’s is affiliated with neighboring, research-intensive Dalhousie University, through the shared Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Science, and three joint masters degrees—the Master of Journalism, the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Nonfiction and the Master of Fiction. King’s students have full access to Dalhousie’s facilities and services.
